For years he was considered to be one of the best new racing talents, heading towards a bright future in single seater racing. After continues championship wins in the Formula Renault series, he finally was entering the F1 world, at least so we thought. But after two years of struggling to get a race seat at a Formula 1 team, all he got was some test drives for back of the grid teams. Although everyone was convinced he was a real talent, no team gave him the chance to proof himself during races.
But now that he made a though decision over the last winter to switch to GT racing, he is smiling again! He obviously was disappointed that his single seater career had stopped where it should have started. But now that he is switched to GT racing, in a top team, with a top car and co-driver he is smiling again because he is able to show his natural race talent and because he is winning again! I really enjoyed his Blancpain Sprint Series race at Brands Hatch this weekend and was impressed (again) by his speed and his lead of over 16 seconds over the number two. So in the end this has proven to be the right decision to make. And let's hope that by joining the Audi family he is able to have a long and lasting racing career with maybe as next steps DTM, WEC or even F1 with Audi, see the latest rumours about Red Bull and Audi... who knows. So my advice would be, stay in the Audi family and you can enjoy lot's of races fighting for the podium places, and will enjoy that as well.
