The WTCC organizers have decided to revamp the Yokohama Trophy class for 2015. That's good news for the private teams running in TC1 this year. Next year they will compete in their own Yokohama Trophy class. Citroen, Honda and Lada will have their own championship. So no more 1,2,3 for Citroen only!
"After a transition season in 2014 with a mix of TC1 and TC2 cars, we will reallocate our resources to support private TC1 teams next year," explained WTCC chief Francois Ribeiro.
Great news for the fans and non factory-backed drivers in TC1! Looking forward to the new season. More background info? See the post: WTCC – NON FACTORY-BACKED TEAMS IN SEPARATE CHAMPIONSHIP?
