Cadillac has unveiled the factory livery for its new V-LMDh Le Mans prototype, set to debut in the 2022 IMSA and World Endurance Championship seasons. The design features bold red accents, paying homage to the brand's racing heritage.
The V-LMDh prototype, which stands for Le Mans Daytona hybrid, is a new class of race car that combines the aerodynamics and downforce of Le Mans prototypes with the hybrid powertrain technology of Daytona prototypes. This allows the car to compete in both IMSA and WEC events, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Cadillac's return to top-level sports car racing is highly anticipated, as the brand has a storied history in endurance racing, including a 1-2-3 finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959. The V-LMDh marks Cadillac's first Le Mans prototype program in over a decade and the brand's first hybrid race car.
